Membership Sports and Recreation Clubs charges on your statement

MCC 7997 is the merchant category code card networks use for Membership Sports and Recreation Clubs. It is assigned by the merchant's acquiring bank, not chosen by you, and it is one of the fields your bank reads when it labels a transaction. Many merchants in this category bill on a recurring basis, so a charge you don't recognize is often a subscription renewal rather than fraud — worth checking before you dispute. Below are the 400 membership sports and recreation clubs charges from 369 merchants that cardholders look up here, each with its own page explaining who billed you and how to resolve it.

Merchant category codes come from the card networks' published MCC lists; the pages above are the charges in this category that meet our publication standard.
