ACH, PPD, WEB and TEL on a Bank Statement — Meanings
ACH is the US Automated Clearing House network for bank-to-bank transfers. An ACH DEBIT means a company pulled money from your checking account — a biller, lender, gym or subscription — using your account and routing numbers rather than a card.
Some banks add a NACHA Standard Entry Class code that tells you how you authorised it: PPD (pre-arranged, e.g. a bill or payroll), CCD (a business account), WEB (authorised online or in an app) and TEL (authorised by phone).
